Starting tour from Kutaisi, an old capital of Georgia with its most spectacular sights. There are lots of ancient monasteries and shelters on the hills, while mysterious caves open its underground halls to impress and amaze you for a while. We will go through outstanding Gelati Monastery, which for long time was one of the main cultural and intellectual centers in Georgia. It had an Academy which employed some of the most celebrated Georgian scientists, theologians and philosophers, many of whom had previously been active at various orthodox monasteries abroad or at the Mangan Academy in Constantinople. Visiting Bagrati cathedral that was constructed in the last quarter of the 10th century and stands on a hill above the right bank of the Rioni River. We will make historical review of this place, where you can take some interesting and beautiful photos.
Continue through Prometheus cave that is 1,8 km long and is located 40 meters below sea level. In the cave there is a hall of love where people even get married. Here you can enjoy with underground boating. After examining of the breathtakingly beautiful cave, we are heading to more impressive Sataplia Cave, having a views to Kutaisi by glass bridge platform overlooking the city and you seeing a millions of years old footprints of dinosaurs, take pictures with the models of dinosaurs, visit the small museum, see a nice heart-shaped stalagmites. Sataplia’s name is derived from wild bees which lived in this territory.
